BBQ, fundraiser bonanza!!!

It was an amazing day at BBELS on Friday. The elementary class spent the morning picking up donations, a mountain of sausages from Trevor Mead Butcher, four garbage bags of wonderful bread from Brumby’s Bakery, muffins from the Top Shop and sparkling water from the Park Hotel. The students then went around all the classrooms auctioning tickets for the great raffle. Prizes to be won were:

• 2 X 1 Weeks full time free tuition at BBELS
• 2 X Go Sea Kayaking tours
• 2 X Grasshoppers Nimbin and hinterland bus tour
• 2 X Byron Dive Centre snorkelling trips
• 1 free surf lesson
• 1 $30 ITunes gift voucher
• 1 Teeny Brazilian Bikini

After the raffle the elementary class started the BBQ with help from Oska’s Café. The students all enjoyed the sausages and for $2.00 a snag (sausage), it was pretty good value.

Between the raffle and the BBQ $600 was raised and Michael O’ Grady said that he would match dollar for dollar! Belinda will be making the donation today of $1200 to the Red Cross Japan Appeal.
