English Only Competition

To encourage students to speak English at school we have 6 tickets to SOLID GOLD HALLOWEEN to giveaway. It is at the Great Northern and a lot of fun as everybody is dressed up and dancing. A great place to go to after the school party has finished.
I asked the teachers and Max to nominate students that are good at speaking English Only. Funnily enough most of the students came from the lower classes.

Danish study tour

Every year we have two study tour groups from Denmark. The students  have a very high level of English and so we offer a cultural program for the students. The students learn about Australian culture, art, history, Aboriginal Australia and much, much more. They were photographed by the Echo (our local newspaper) for a sand sculpture competition, which they organised on Main beach. Please click the link to read the article from the newspaper.

Congratulations to everybody who entered. Please read all the winning stories on the blog.

Last week short stories started arriving on my desk. I was very happy with the number of stories, the imagination and great ideas. We decided that Pascal’s story was so good that we would give it a special prize as he was leaving on Friday. Please click on the link and read it for yourself.
